Macmillan collaborating with MDI-Gurgaon

BANGALORE, March 25

AFTER launching online EDPs in collaboration with IIT-Delhi and NID, Macmillan India is now launching EDPs in collaboration with MDI-Gurgaon for courses on CRM-Concepts, tools and applications and e-business planning and implementation at www.develop.emacmillan. com/mdi.

The course CRM-Concepts, tools and applications has been authored and developed by Dr G. Shainesh and the course on e-business planning and implementation has been authored and developed by Dr K.B.C. Saxena.

Macmillan India has collaborated with the country's premier institutions for professional learning to offer management, design and self development courses online at www.develop.emacmillan.com.

These courses include finance for non-finance executives, international finance, CRM, corporate finance, graphic and industrial design for effective packaging, personnel effectiveness in the new economy and e-business planning and implementation.

These development programmes are in collaboration with IIM-Kolkata, DMS, IIT-Delhi, MDI, Gurgaon, and NID Ahmedabad and the programmes will offer certification by these institutes. This initiative by a publishing company in making short-term professional learning courses accessible to executives and professionals through the Internet, is aimed at helping them update their knowledge and acquire latest skills and interact with experienced faculty of India's top professional institutes and offer the added convenience of online learning.

The Web site and other online courses are spearheaded by emacmillan, the e-business division of Macmillan India. The Web site is the latest initiative by emacmillan, which is based in Bangalore and has state-of-the-art IT, infrastructure and established capability in software development, instruction design and web design. The division has embarked upon several landmark e-learning projects both in India and abroad, including projects on high-end cancer research, multi-lingual encyclopedia and science teaching in a British school.

It has to its credit the English language teaching Web site — www.elt.emacmillan.com, a Web site for engineering and medical entrance examinations — www.success.emacmillan.com and the Web site for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India — www.icsi.edu.

The division has secured several projects including maintenance of production management system for an international publisher and multimedia project for a Japanese company.
