Miscellaneous
Making them businesswomen
Kutch and attractive embroidery are synonymous. The women of Kutch, helped by NGOs, are turning their traditional artistic skills into big business.

Setting things right
Individuals are helping villagers find means to support themselves but funding is not consistent. And now they have to fight the added danger of industries and ports coming up in the mangrove zone.

Those were the days
The grass is green and cattle lazily graze. That is a fading memory. The reality is that villagers are just waking up to the threat posed by the walk-in by the Rann which has devastated their livelihood.

Trapping water for survival
Kutch region in Gujarat conjures up images of vast stretches of wasteland. And the people who inhabit this terrain are fighting to stop the seepage of saline water and make the best of the little rainfall the region gets by building check dams.
