Inflation watch
THE annual rate of inflation measured in terms of the wholesale price index (WPI) on a point-to-point basis declined to 2.88 per cent for the latest recorded week ended January 29 from 3.31 per cent in the previous week. It had remained above the three p er cent mark in the preceding three weeks.

`Make globalisation more equitable'
Organisation (ILO), Mr. Juan Somavia, today asserted that it was not true that the globalisation process was ``unshakeable and untouchable'' and warned that it would not last long because ``it is not delivering benefits'' to the majority of people, parti cularly the poor and even to the middle-class across the world.

`India should be signatory to TRIPs agreement'
INDIA should be a signatory to TRIPs Agreement as most of the benefits of TRIPs agreement will flow into the country, the former Deputy Director General, World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Mr. Shahid Alikhan, said.
